Myopia Control

What it is

Myopia (short-sightedness) often begins in childhood and can progress as a child grows. Myopia control aims to slow that progression, which may help reduce the risk of eye-health issues associated with high myopia later in life. Depending on your child's needs, our optometrists may recommend approaches such as specially designed spectacle lenses, soft myopia-control contact lenses, or overnight orthokeratology (Ortho-K). We assess, recommend, and monitor a plan suited to your child.

What to expect

  • A thorough assessment of your child's vision and eye growth
  • Personalised recommendations (special lenses, contact lenses, or Ortho-K)
  • Ongoing monitoring to track progression
  • Guidance on everyday habits that support healthy vision
  • A long-term plan focused on your child's eye health
